Exodus 6

I've had this post in mind for awhile now.  I just haven't had a chance to sit down and type it out until now.  The timing is perfect in our lives right now.  I read it and it jumped out at me weeks ago and then this week, I so needed the reminder.

Exodus 6:1-8 (KJV)

Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord:
And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.
And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.
And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:
And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the Lord.

I love reading about the strong hand of the Lord! Verses that remind us that HE IS GOD ALMIGHTY, JEHOVAH, the I AM, THE LORD.

Our lives are a lot like the children of Israel.  We are down here wondering around in our own little wilderness trying to figure out which way to go, what to do, complaining when it isn't all sunshine and roses.  God moves for us over and over .... and over. And then the first obstacle comes along and we are wondering where in the world is he??  Why did he leave me here to die??
We live in this world where we think we have to have it all together all the time and that everything should go just right all the time and if we don't keep it together or things don't go smoothly, then we must have lost God somewhere along the way.  WE ARE HUMAN!!  I know, it's a difficult thing to accept at times.  We live in a world that is FAR from being heaven. We are not going to always have it all together.  LIFE is going to be down right unfair at times.  We are going to hurt, cry, lose our cool from time to time.  We are going to face things we don't understand.  Isn't it comforting to know we have a SAVIOR who has given us GRACE, and over and over again he gives us MERCY.  Not only does he save us and keep us, he shows himself strong in our lives on a daily basis.  He brings us out of bondage.  He redeems us with his stretched out arm. He hears us cry and He gives us strength for the fight.  He fights our battles and sometimes makes us feel like we've had a hand in helping.

There is a land that God has promised his people and we are on a journey to make it there.  Keep holding onto Jesus!  Stand on his promises and when you feel like your world is crashing in, fall at Jesus' feet.  He knows just what you need and he will give you strength for the journey. Heaven will be worth the journey!!
