For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
This verse stuck out to me this morning. The first chapter of Lamentations tells of Jeremiah mourning for Jerusalem. God had come to the point that He rejected the people for their rebellious ways. They had turned away from God and He finally had enough. What a horrible place to be .... 'the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me' .... to come to a point where God allows the enemy to prevail over your life. If that doesn't make you want to stay with God, I don't know what will.
Romans 6:23-

It is a new year. A perfect time for new beginnings. Leave the whatever holds you back in 2011. Nothing is worth missing heaven. We need our Comforter. I'm searching my heart today. I hope you will too. It's time to 'reach forth unto those things which are before.'
